Asked by catalina barrera

I use UBUNTU from pendrive as operating system.
The system was functioning normally; A calculation was made in GABEDIT using GAMESS, and the computer was turned off while the program was running; now it does not turn on and on the start screen it continuously goes out

Does the system boot when you select "advanced options - root shell prompt" from the grub menu?

I log in to gnu grub version ubuntu and leave therse options:

* Try Ubuntu without installing
Install Ubuntu
OEM install (For manufacturers)
Check disk for defects

Select the option "Check disk for defects" - and it does not generate any problem, but it does not progress

How I can see the option "advanced options - root shell prompt"

This is the choice offered on the Ubuntu installer, but not the grub menu for an Ubuntu system installed on disk.
So apparently you are running a live system.

How did you prepare that pendrive?
Do you have files stored on it (by activating persistent monde)?

Do you get these error messages also when booting on a system that is not connected to the internet?
