Upgrading

Asked by Derrick Neve

This question must have come up before but I've been looking everywhere for half an hour and I can't find it. It concerns my options of upgrading my two machines to the final version of 9.04 when it comes out.

1. My office machine is now running 9.04 BETA that I got last month. I have proceeded with almost daily updates that are proposed automatically. If I continue like this, will this machine be in "6.04-final" condition automatically without having to do a reinstall?

2. My laptop at home is running a nice stable 8.10 and I'm happy with it but I'd like to have 9.04 on both machines (so I can run the same software versions). When 9.04 final is released will I have to wipe what I have already installed to install 9.04?

Thanks so much for your help,

Derrick

1. Yes! It will be 9.04.
2. Wait a few days after 9.04 is finally out and do an Distribution-Update (it will also be shown while normal updates that it is available). This will last then two or three hours... but should result also in a 9.04.
