You do not need motherboard drivers in Ubuntu.

The ones you are trying to use are Windows ones. Drivers are like a translation dictionary. What you are trying to do is like trying to use a french-english dictionary to talk to some japanese people. Linux has the equivalent to those drivers in the kernel, if it needs them, almost always anyway. Is something not working that made you think you need drivers?

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

You willfind they are picked up automagically. The hardware on motherboards does need drivers but the stuff in Ubuntu will provide it for you. Just get your other hardware working and life will be fine.

You're welcome. It's always good to welcome someone new into Ubuntu and into the wider linux scene too :) Welcome in!

The Windows world seems full of difficulties and quirks that i was quite glad to leave behind, although i have kept a working Windows on a dual-boot in case i ever need it. Here are some guides to help you migrate too ;) Just for skim reading sometime when you have spare time ...
