Gimp will not launch

Installed GIMP 2.10 on Ubuntu 18.10. Click on Launch and nothing happens. Software depository says that it is installed. opened activities and searched for GIMP it found it and launched it (it works) . When I click on launch bar to make it a Favorite. There is nothing that allows me to do that.

try renaming the gimp configuration folder and launching it

Thank you for the info. Do not know what the problem was. Tried to open pic with another option and was allowed to pick Gimp. from then on it worked fine.
