Ubuntu Studio doesnt recognize SD cards

Ubuntu Studio doesnt recognize my SD memory cards. are there any fixes for it?

I suggest that you check the system messages:

Open a terminal window and issue the command
dmesg --follow
This will shows some messages and then pause.

Now insert an SD card and look at the output of the dmesg command.
Does it show new messages?
Do they indicate errors or problems?

Many thanks for your help and advice. It turned out to be the card itself. I found and tried another one and Ubuntu found it immediately.
