Snapd (error/warning) in syslog after update to snapd 2.37+18.04

Asked by chris pollock

This is:

lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS

apt-cache policy snapd
snapd:
  Installed: 2.37+18.04
  Candidate: 2.37+18.04

Periodically after the update today this is written to syslog multiple time:

Jan 22 17:19:58 localhost gnome-software[3273]: Failed to find one package for evince-xpsdocument, /usr/share/metainfo/evince-xpsdocument.metainfo.xml, [0]
Jan 22 17:19:58 localhost gnome-software[3273]: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to 'SnapdRequest'
Jan 22 17:19:58 localhost gnome-software[3273]: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to 'GAsyncResult'
Jan 22 17:19:58 localhost gnome-software[3273]: g_object_ref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
Jan 22 17:19:58 localhost gnome-software[3273]: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
Jan 22 17:19:58 localhost gnome-software[3273]: snapd_client_get_snap_finish: assertion 'SNAPD_IS_GET_SNAP (result)' failed

I'm also seeing this written at the end of the above output:

I can't seem to find what triggers it at the moment. Is this a bug in the new version of snapd?
