can not log in when update from 16 to 18.04

How to resolve the problem. I can not log in the system after update from 16 to 18.04. Already make sure the ID and Password are correct. Thanks.

yes. with GUI. mouse pointer also working. just it always ask me to enter the password.

Did you install proprietary video drivers in 16.04, please?
