stuck!

Asked by taishido

nothing is moving when i install ubuntu when the partition screen comes up (step 5/6?). it stops at 5% and gets stuck. I have an intel pentium 4 (2.66Ghz) and 256 mb of ram. should i leave the computer on and let it run (mouse doesn't even move) or should I restart it? the partition manager has now corrupted or has completely taken out windows so i can't do anything windows-related and it won't install! what should i do?

So you wiped your windows partition and the ubuntu install hung.
Try the install again. Your ram is a little low that may be the problem.

Try xubuntu its made for lower spec machines. You have a fast cpu but your ram is very low.
