Kubuntu 18.10 Invalid or corrupt kernel image

Asked by Jan Floris van der Knoop

Hi there! I've just bought a new desktop computer:

- MSI B450M Gaming Plus
- AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 3,7GHz
- GeIL value RAM 8GB DDR44 2133
- AMD Radeon RX Vega 8

No prior operating system installen, I've downloaded tot USB-stick Kubuntu 18.10. Everything runs smothly until I reach the installer boot menu: big blue letters 'KUBUNTU' and choice to:
- Start Kubuntu
- Check disc for defects
- Boot from first hard disc
- Advanced options
- Help

So I Start Kubuntu and get te folowing message:

Invalid or corrupt kernel image.
boot:

Could you give me some advice on what to do next?

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?

The ISO I used is straight from the Kubuntu website. The MD5 test gave me: eece9dd25824ade507df18e4ba2286cb
But I don't know whether that means the ISO is ok or not.

The link is:

No its not. The file source is absolutely irrelevant. As long as it matches that hash then the file is OK. You have a damaged image so it will need redownloading. If you use torrents then it is less likely to be damaged in transit
