grub with acer

Asked by Bougron on 2019-01-11

Hello
The installation of Ubuntu 18.04.1 on low-end ES1-533 or ES1-732 series ACER computers can not be completed!

The cause is perfectly known: Grub-install wants to update the NVRAM and he does not know how to do it.

The pallative is perfectly identified. You have to make the following option "--no-vram" in the grub-install command

==> sudo apt-get install --reinstall grub-efi -amd64
        sudo grub-install --no-vram --rooot directory=.......

then update the file /EFI/BOOT/bootx64.efi with grubx64.efi

My questions are
  1) how to do this automatically during the installation?
 Or
  2) how not to install the grub during the installation?

I saw in discussions that you have to order "sudo ubiquity -b" but It seems to me that it is outdated with version 18.04.....
how to do?
