keyboard and mouse error (stop working) 18.04.1 LTS

My usb keyboard and mouse both work fine most of the time but occasionally both stop responding at the same time.
This is fixed by a re-start.
Everything working fine for several months but the problem has happened occasionally over the last few weeks.
PC is an Acer all in one
Please can you help to fix this or how to collect more details about this problem
