Screen goes blank after 10 minutes ubuntu mate 18.04

Asked by scott

I never had this issue before on any of my other Ubuntu flavors till this one. Every 10 minutes the screen goes blank and it's not a screen saver issue. I have my power management set to never and never on sleep modes. I installed caffeine and that doesn't help. Watching a movie is a pain with this issue. I'm sorry if this is a noob issue but, I've been running ubuntu since 8.04 and never came upon this before so I have no clue where to start after setting the power management and screen saver to not go blank. I'm running a am1m-s2h mb, athlon 5150 apu with a GTX 750 ti gpu.

Don't accidentally turn off your power management on your startup applications..

I also added what this guy did but, while I was in my startup applications I had found that I turned off my power management by accident and thought that was it. So you may want to add this line in your startup apps. You may also want to check your screen saver settings too.
