user not added to the default scanner group

Is normal that I have to add manually my user to "scanner" group to perform a scan? Same thing on Ubuntu 18.10 and .04

In my opinion automatically adding all users to a certain group when installing a piece of software would be a huge security weakness.

There is a possibility to configure the system that all new users are automatically added to the "scanner" group. It involves modifying the /etc/adduser.conf configuration file (adapting the values for EXTRA_GROUPS and ADD_EXTRA_GROUPS).
