how to clear synaptic searches

Asked by Jack Ostroff on 2018-12-03

In synaptic, every time you do a search, the search term is added to the list on the left (Search Results). I know closing and restarting synaptic clears that list, but I'm wondering if there is any way to clear the list, or remove individual items from the list without restarting synaptic.

I know this is in no way necessary, or particularly important, but there are times I do a lot of searching, and the list grows unwieldy. Besides, now that I've tried and failed, I'm curious whether it's actually possible or not.

When you do a search, Synaptic do always a complete search on all the packages list even if you did other searches, so deleting previous searches is never useful.

You misssed my point. I know clearing the search list has no effect on further searches. However, it has an effect on my ability to find the results in the search list if it is very long. This is a convenience issue, not about functionality.

Can you help with this problem?
