Strange Firefox audio issues on Kubuntu 18.04

Asked by Bugal Jackson

These are two separate issues that only seem to happen on two specific URLs.

One issue is for twitch.tv, on a certain person's stream. There is absolutely zero audio from their stream, even when I use the clip feature, view their past VODs (every single one), there is no audio on any stream from them. What in the world can be causing this? Is their URL blacklisted from audio somehow? I check pulse and it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/Cc3Vzin.png
The Firefox tab with the greyed out lock is the tab for their URL. I've opened multiple twitch.tv tabs (and websites with audio in general) and they all give audio and don't have a greyed out lock. So is this an association?

The second issue is on one youtube link. The specific URL has an issue where when I open pulse, suddenly the audio from that URL will slow down in speed and tempo, like it was altered by a DJ. I know for a fact this did not happen prior to yesterday because I would always open this link, and open Pulse just to check if my scarlett 18i8 was working properly.

So this brings up another point that I downloaded a bunch of updates that the system popup was asking to install yesterday. Didn't check what they all were, I just clicked to. I think I had these two tabs open at the time so I'm guessing that has to do with it somehow?

I have re-installed firefox from the very bottom and it still happens. Re-installed pulse too. I installed google chrome to test these two URLs and they don't give these issues.
