The "Software Boutique" hangs during startup.

Asked by Jack Hunter

Running Ubuntu 18.04 on an older HP laptop. After some updates were installed, Software Boutique hangs after starting and will not continue. I reinstalled 18.04 and all was fine until I installed several updates then the problem returned. Any suggestions as to where to look.

If you run:

sudo apt-get update; lsb_release -a; uname -a

What is the full output, please?

Thanks

OK and if you run:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Is it OK? Do packages install OK?
