Lack of controls for the keyboard backlight

Hi. Gnome desktop on Ubuntu 18.10 lacks controls for adjusting the keyboard backlight brightness levels, feature present in every previous version of the OS.
I'd like to report this as a bug, but I need help identifying which package is causing this issue. I'd appreciate the help!
