How to change WINE language to english

Hi,
Im using WINE on Ubuntu 8.10.
The default language in WINE is something other than English and im unable to use it.
Please teach me how to change the language to English

doesnt winecfg give you language options?

Winecfg doesn't have any option to change the language.
