Use Domain login script on Ubuntu

Asked by YWAMMER

I have joined by Ubuntu station to my Windows 2003 domain and all users can login. I haven't been able to use the login script to assign shares and printers on the Ubuntu station. Is there anyway to get Ubuntu to see the login script on my server? If not can I use that login script on the Ubuntu station. I have played with dropping the script into /etc/rc.local but have had no success. Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

I am fairly new to Ubuntu so you will have to treat me as if I know NOTHING!!

If the shares and printers are the same for all users on the system you could put that info in the /etc/profile file. It will run every time each user logs in.

If this is the case, you'd want to make the shares relative to their home directories so that they don't clobber each other on login.

While this guide applies specifically to IBM's AIX, the basics are the same so it should give you some clues:

Can you help with this problem?
