Most stable version of Linux or Ubuntu for a system that hangs a lot and is quite often forced shutdown.

Asked by Rakshita

Hello,
I have tried using Ubuntu 16 to 18.3 and Lubuntu too but I have this consistent issue in the system. Even though I have a 3GB Ram, it still hangs and can not work up to the speed that is required. I have to force shutdown the system everytime it hangs.
I have :

Ram : 3GB(1Gb+2Gb)

Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz × 2

Graphics: Intel® G33

OS Type: 64-bit

Disk: 156.4 GB

I have a problem mainly during Google Ad Words and Upwork. Sometimes Firefox causes a serious hang to the system too. The System has all the installs and updates on "Never". When the system hang is at a peak, I often go for a
$ sudo apt-get update and upgrade

Please help me with this problem. I will be very thankful. :)

Have you tested your RAM using Memtest86 from GRUB?
RAM very cheap and will help the system a lot.

Can you help with this problem?
