Flickering screen (eventually turns into a black screen)

Asked by Carlos Schmidt-Padilla

Screen starts flickering green and then turns into gray. When I turn on and off and on again. it does not flicker for about 5-10 minutes; then flickering starts and does not stop

THis is what the screen looks like: https://photos.app.goo.gl/9G8fgS8HiTAMz3bj9

Ran this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GraphicsTroubleshootingProcedure (not sure if this is related; seems most obvious)

I'm seeing Wily sources in your output. Did you upgrade directly from Wily to Xenial in one jump?

If this flickering is shown already on the BIOS setup screen, then this looks more to be a hardware problem than a fault in the software running on the system.

Can you help with this problem?
