usb start up disk does not boot

USB start up disk was created through "system" - administration - Create a usb start up disk" with the Ubuntu 8.10 cd.

when rebooted with USB, pc hangs with the sceen displaying "boot: (cursor blinking)" when pressed enter, it displays the message "linux kernel image missing".

I guess the problem is in your Ubuntu 8.10 cd.

Which version of usb-creator were u using ?

Hi,

Problem resolved as I was trying to create the usb from the hard disk instead of live cd. I waited till 9.04 was released, then made a live CD and proceeded as per instructions given in website.
