Ubuntu 18.04 absolutely sucking arse (ass).

For a newbie , I can not find anything, which was easy to find in 16.04 !!!?.
I wanted to pay for 18.04 if it surpassed the buggy 16.04 kernel , but I have
found its basic layout really really SUCKS !
I can't find anything ???.
WHAT HAPPENED TO UBUNTU ?.
I use Linux Mint 18.3 now and it is the best !.
My favorite OS was Ubuntu , but some nitwit buggered it up !.
Change doesn't always mean better (Ubuntu 18.04) .
The best Ubuntu version was 12.-- Satanic Version , but it is no
longer supported !?.
I wish it was as I would still be using it as a daily driver .
Please fix 18.04 !??????????.

You can do several things here:

1 - Install Unity 7 in Ubuntu 18.04 so everything looks the same as it did in 16:

    sudo apt install ubuntu-unity-desktop

Select lightdm as the default manager when asked. Select Unity upon login, now everything is back as it was.

2 - If you had issues with the kernel in 16 just install the one you need:

    sudo apt install linux-image-4.15.0-20-generic linux-headers-4.15.0-20-generic
    sudo grub-mkconfig
    sudo grub-install
    sudo grub-set-default Ubuntu, with Linux 4.15.0-20-generic
    reboot

3 - Or you can come here and whine and use way to many exclamation marks or whatever

Yeah, I don't like Gnome either, but you can use whatever WM or DW you like, that's the cool thing in Linux.
