Dell Latitude TouchPad Issue

Asked by Sutter Phillips

I have been using my Dell Latitude 7370 on Ubuntu without many issues when slowly my touch-pad began to lose functionality. When it started having issues I assumed my computer was just freezing, but now even when nothing else is running, my left click button does not function.

I am always able to move my mouse around the screen, the touch screen works to get most things I need done.

Sometimes when I use my computer I am able to right click or tap to click, but these functions do not work reliably.

I have tried booting Ubuntu from a flash drive and the problem persists leading me to think it might be something wrong with a driver.

I have tried using an external mouse and the problem persists so I doubt it is a hardware issue.

What options do I have?

Have you tested your RAM using Memtest86 from GRUB?
Do you have the latest BIOS?

Can you help with this problem?
