Black desktop in Ubuntu 18.04 (SOLVED)

Asked by Lightday

Hello. Having installed Ubuntu 16.04, as they told me in a forum, I could upgrade to Ubuntu 18.04. The thing is that my pc is 32 bits, does not allow the installation of Ubuntu 18.04 64 bits, but an update. But the desktop only shows the doc and the task panel above. It does not allow to see the archives or folders that there is in it, nor to lower the doc and the bottom is seen in black without being able to change the color nor to put a bottom of desktop.
Greetings

Remark:
The output of the command "lscpu" as shown in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/670406
"modo(s) de operación de las CPUs:32-bit, 64-bit"
shows that it is not true that your PC is "32bit only". Your CPU is able to run 32bit and 64bit operating systems.

Did you install the Nvidia driver in Ubuntu 16.04?

You know that when you install Ubuntu 16.04 the Nvidia and Ubuntu drivers are installed and the default installation leaves you with the ubuntu driver. So if I install them and use only the ubuntu drivers.

Black desk, the dock and the panel I see them and I can use them.

You enter as superuser
sudo its

You update the system, update more important packages and install the ubuntu desktop.
apt update && apt dist-upgrade && apt install ubuntu-desktop

Restarts
reboot
Now you can see the bottom of the desk.
