unable to locate vlc package

i am getting error message "unable to locate VLC package" frequently on ubuntu 17.04. also on my ubuntu software center i am getting only snap version and asks ubuntu one account.

Ubuntu 17.04 is end of life (EOL) and no longer supported in any way. There are no packages for it.

I suggest you wipe the install off and do a clean install of Bionic (Ubuntu 18.04). Bionic is LTS and supported until April 2023.
