I have a new Toshiba A100 V1 (celeron) and Ubuntu does not work well with it. Will there be an easy fix soon?

Asked by bayit katom

OK I love the idea of dropping vista...but my sound does not work...and who knows what other things don't work after installing it. I read through a bunch of suggestions on what to do but most were complicated or did not have good results. I want a smooth running computer. Should I just re-install vista...or is there likely to be a patch that will fix my compatibility problem in the near future. I don't have hours to spend learning how to install sound cards etc.
Thanks for your thoughts,
Danny

In order for us to diagnose the specific issues you have you need to outline each one. We are unfortunately not psychic, so don't know what the other issues you have are.

For the sound problem have you seen the troubleshooting guide?

Can you help with this problem?
