not boot after installation

Asked by Vernon Warner

I have installed Mint from a USB and it seemed to install ok but will not boot. The message "Failed to open /EFI /Boot/mm64.efi - Not Found" appears briefly along with a few lines which only flash up too quickly for me to read and then it goes into a loop and repeats. I can press f12 and boot into the USB ok. I ran Boot-Repair which says it repaired the fault and put the shim64.efi into the BIOS as instructed but it has not made any difference.
I am not too technical but it seems to me that files are in the Ubuntu folder and not the Boot folder but I don't know how to move them anyway.
I do not have Windows on the HDD, it is just single boot
Any help would be appreciated

This website is for official Canonical issues of Ubuntu - not Linux Mint which is off topic here.

You need the Linux Mint Forums >>> https://forums.linuxmint.com/
