Is it possible to install Ubuntu on a Windows 10 system? Without overwriting Windows 10?

Yes, you can resize the Windows partitions in the Ubuntu installer and install Ubuntu to the free space.

Planning your partitions is better than resizing but it's not tricky to use free space for Ubuntu. This is offered in the installer process.
