How do I add Ubuntu 18.04.01 lts to a domain

I can not add Ubuntu 18.04.01 LTS to a domain. I can not find likewise-open-gui the joindomain command will not work either.
I also can not install packages. I do have root access.

Do it in command line. Far easier IMHO
