veracrypt not working in 18.04

I just installed 18.04 (over 16.04). All works well except VeraCrypt (which was working fine in 16.04). Veracrypt was indeed included in the installation of 18.04, but when I try to open an encrypted file, I get the message

Failed to launch preferred application for category "File Manager"
Failed to execute child process "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xfce4/exo-1/exo-helper-1"

I tried uninstalling, then re-installing VeraCrypt, no difference....same problem occurs.

The missing file is provided by the package libexo-1-0
Try (re-)installing that one. Maybe that helps.

installing libexo-1-0 works great....well, almost great. the encrypted file opens fine now, but when I click on the odt file of interest contained in the encrypted file, LibreOffice does not open automatically (as it used to)....but if I open LibreOffice, the file I want is listed as present, and opens correctly. Thank you very much
