Where did Xubuntu's panel go??>

 I was installing Scipy, and when I finished my xubuntu panel, the bar on the top of the screen, disappeared!
I tried getting it back using the settings manager, but the panel button does not work.
I mostly use the command line but I miss my clock! Does anyone know how I can get my panel back?

i'm having the same problem too. i tried to run xfce-panel but it returned that there is no xfce-panel installed. how do i install the panel on xubuntu. thanks
