nautilus shows x-cd-image as Unknown type

Asked by MikeR

Listing an *.iso file in nautilus, the mime-file-type shows correctly as application/x-cd-image, however the Type shows as Unknown.
1) Why
2) Can this be changed to something more relevant?

Note: I have Googled, searched the wiki, and not found an answer

System is GNOME on Ubuntu 16.04, fully up-to-date.

What could be written in the type part? How are the 'types' differentiated?

Truth to tell, I don't know what it *should* say -- perhaps something like "cd-image" ; anything would be more informative than "Unknown", especially since the type of fle *is* known.
Just that adding an extra column to show mime-type in addition (because the Type column is useful for other files) seems like perhaps a workaround, but not very useful, definitely not elegant.

See my original post:
These are questions: Why - if there is an overpowering reason for this situation then just forget it....
Can this be changed: If for instance there is some configuration file that could easily be edited, that would be great.

Mainly I would like an answer to the "why" question -- it seems as if something was missed somewhere.
