Improvement over ubiquity using DD

Asked by Steven Dale

I noticed the ubiquity program while installing Ubuntu uses dd to create a swapfile.
I believe that using fallocate instead would be much faster, and more convenient!

I'm on the spectrum, so please don't use caps or harsh language, I might have a seizure or something similar - this is just a suggestion!

I asked in #ubuntu on freenode as to where to put this suggestion, but they weren't very helpful, only referring me to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs, which left me confused and annoyed, as that article is very hard to understand, having no straight-forward or simple instructions as to where to go to report bugs, and Clicking 'Report a bug' in launchpad, takes you straight back there, I tried using 'apport-bug ubiquity' in Terminal, but that didn't work, so sorry if this is the wrong place for it!

Technically everyone is on the spectrum.

If you run:

ubuntu-bug ubiquity

You can report a bug with your suggestion as a solution.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Steven Dale for more information if necessary.
