Improvement over ubiquity using DD

Asked by Steven Dale on 2018-08-01

I noticed the ubiquity program while installing Ubuntu uses dd to create a swapfile.
I believe that using fallocate instead would be much faster, and more convenient!

I'm on the spectrum, so please don't use caps or harsh language, I might have a seizure or something similar - this is just a suggestion!

I asked in #ubuntu on freenode as to where to put this suggestion, but they weren't very helpful, only referring me to, which left me confused and annoyed, as that article is very hard to understand, having no straight-forward or simple instructions as to where to go to report bugs, and Clicking 'Report a bug' in launchpad, takes you straight back there, I tried using 'apport-bug ubiquity' in Terminal, but that didn't work, so sorry if this is the wrong place for it!
