Adding Feral Interactive's GameMode tool to repos

Asked by R.Erol

That is simply a feature request actually. Solus and Arch have that on repos.

https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode

It is open source , suggested by Feral Interactive to eliminate cpu governor related bottlenecks in order to achieve best performance from Feral Interactive games. It is not doing a system wide governor change , rather than gives people to chance simply booting these games with a command to not doing a system wide governor change yet benefiting maximum performance.

There are already two PPAs with that software, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=gamemode

Debian seems to be already working on providing a package, https://salsa.debian.org/games-team/gamemode

If you want to request that Ubuntu provides such package in its standard repositories, you have to create a bug report, tagging it with "needs-packaging", see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages
