software updater shows a download needed, but lists no packages
Recently Software Updater has been launching telling me that there are updates, but no packages are listed. The interface shows 54.1 MB will be downloaded, but no package is listed... I have never seen this before - what's up?

If you close software-update and re-open it, does it still show a pending update?
Revision history for this message
|
#4 |
Yes, it does. It goes through the "Checking for updates..." process then opens the dialog tha states "Updates software is available for this computer..." but no packages are listed. The download now says "55.5 MB will be downloaded."

NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!
