Google Authenticator & XRDP

Asked by Paul Brozovic

I am running Ubuntu 18.04 with XRDP loaded. I loaded Google-Authenicator and it seems to be working fine. However when I access the box remotely (Via xrdp) it does not work, has anyone been able to make google-authenticator work with xrdp? if so, please send a clue as I am a beginner and not sure what I am doing.

What do you do on the remote system that needs the full desktop? I always ask. There may be a sleeker solution

I am actually using it as a middle man to remote (RDP) into a win10 machine that is local to the linux box. I am trying to minimize and control access from outside. I was hoping to have 2FA on linux for tighter security. I need a solution which requires no budget.

Are you asking about the linux desktop or windows desktop?

My requirements:

- Run software on windows machine that is closed to outside (internal access only)

- Remotely connect to network using 2FA (external access to internal)
