wireless adaptor not recognised

Asked by Dan on 2018-07-01

Hi

I have installed Ubuntu 18.04LTS on a HP laptop. No other operating system is in use. I get a message stating that there is no wireless adaptor. I have no issues with my internet connection or router. I installed Ubuntu from a USB drive which formatted the hard drive prior to installation. The software works OK otherwise. How do I make Ubuntu recognise the adaptor? Is it downloading a driver from 'Software and Updates'. Really appreciate help on the matter.

Thank you

Dan

Have you used a wired connection to get fully updated?

Please follow https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WirelessTroubleshootingProcedure (with the only deviation, that in step 3 you should not create a new question document, but paste all output into this one which you have already created).

Can you help with this problem?
