Some websites cannot be reached after upgrading to 18.04

Asked by Laurent Bertola

Hello,

I was using Ubuntu 17.10 and everything was working fine, including wireless connection.

I upgraded today to 18.04 and now some websites cannot be reached. For example mercola.com cannot be reached. I also cannot ping it:

laurent@laurent:~$ping mercola.com
PING mercola.com (199.66.167.131) 56(84) bytes off data.

[...]

And nothing happens.

Some websites I can reach without problem e.g. google.com

Thanks for your help!

I think that has only to do with the website and has nothing to do with Ubuntu 18.04. Maybe a misconfiguration of the webmaster or something like that.

ping www.mercola.com
PING www.mercola.com.cdn.cloudflare.net (104.17.115.84) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 104.17.115.84 (104.17.115.84): icmp_seq=1 ttl=57 time=42.8 ms
...

ping mercola.com
PING mercola.com (199.66.166.215) 56(84) bytes of data.
^C
--- mercola.com ping statistics ---
11 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 10223ms

Hello,

It is not just the ping, the website was impossible to reach in firefox and google-chrome and it was just an example, some other websites were also unreachable e.g. regenere.org

But I have found a workaround in google, someone suggested to remove the ethernet profile from the network menu (I had one ethernet profile from a previous wired connection I no longer use). I did this and now everything works fine.

Can you help with this problem?
