Jaunty 9.04, 16 gb sd card not detected, dell mini.

Asked by frkingz

Installed Jaunty on Dell Mini 9, now my 16gb sd card is no longer detected upon insertion. Previously worked fine with Intrepid install. Card still works fine in other computers. 2gb sd card is detected and works fine.

Any help appreciated. Once again, 16gb sd card not detected after Jaunty install. 2gb sd card is detected. 16 gb card worked fine in same laptop when Intrepid was installed. 16gb still works fine in all other computers.

Tried formatting card, no effect. Tried reinstalling Jaunty from scratch, twice, no effect.

16gb and 32gb USB flash drives detected with no problems.

Clean install of Jaunty, not upgrade. Everything else works perfectly.

Thank you, any help appreciated.

Well I guess this has been confirmed as a bug. No solution yet though.

I've encountered the same issue with my DELL Mini 9 - configuration is the same, except hd is 64gb.

I have the same problem, but with an Asus Eee PC 1000 and an 8 GB SD card. The card works fine in another computer running Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS.

Here's an excerpt of what dmesg says after I plug the card in:

I have an Acer Aspire One still running Linux Linus Lite and am wondering is it worth trying Jaunty or should I stick with the Linux until this bug is sorted out?

Are there AAO users out there who are succesfully using 9.04 on an AAO with no SD card slot problems?
