Wifi drops within a couple minutes after booting. But not on Win7.

Asked by mike rogers

Wifi loads and works each time after login. I open Yahoo and see it. Click on a link and it will open. But within a couple of minutes it drop. Error message indicates a DNS problem.

This may be a general Linux issue because it also drops after changing ssd with Feren OS. Changed ssd and Linux Mint 18.3 also drops WIfi .

I have cable ISP providing 100gb to my home. On Speed Test I get up to 105 to 120 gb. ALSO I pull another laptop with Win7 connect wifi and it remains stable and will run without any drops. I've opened Yahoo and clicked on several links. Leave it running and come back an hour later and it still works. 2 hours later it has not dropped and will connect to links. DNS is set to 1.1.1.1 in the router and never hesitates on Win7.

My Access Point is a Titan-AP AC1900. All the connections mentioned above on versions of Linux and Win7 were done at a table with about 5 feet between the laptops and the access point.

Linux Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community in any way. It's support is entirely separate from Ubuntu's. It has it's own forum and community.

I suggest you post on the Mint forum here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask mike rogers for more information if necessary.
