Ubuntu VLC Failure-installed but doesn't see DVD

Asked by Noah T.W.Given5

done everything as instructed -- - I Think - - - - but VLC STILL doesn't work. Works on the other computer but not this one. I KNOW the DVD drive works that's how I loaded Ubuntu.

Just exactly what commands should I enter to un-install VLC for a complete re-do... please?

If you want to remove vlc then use;

sudo apt-get --purge remove vlc
sudo apt-get --purge autoremove
sudo apt-get clean

Uninstalling vlc and reinstalling it won't change anything. You will just be taking the data off then put the same data in the exact same place.
