Intel i7 compatibility

Calling all experts.

I am unfamiliar to Umbuntu, and would like to use this software with a Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz Processor, Does Umbuntu 64 platform support this? Or do I need to buy a windows emulator (WINE) and still have vista or XP in the background?????
