Had to install Several Programs more than 1 time

18.04 is nice BUT I had to install VLC about 4 times before it was really there And Virtual Box was a real B----h !. . to get installed must have been installing it well over 4 times ( I need it for bleeping windows to run Shetch UP Make ) Same as a few other Programs file down loads and says it installed it but when I go to find the Program to run . . Not there, and so I install it again an again . . What is causing this ? . . haha Also does not remember where things are to go when I start the laptop up like System Monitor

Just run:

sudo apt-get install vlc

Done
