Getting existing Samsung ML2540 printer to work after upgrading to POP OS

Asked by Larry

When adding the printer on POP OS, there is no driver for the 2540, the system lists the 2525 as "(preferred)". Nothing has changed about the configuration except for the OS. Connectivity is by USB - no changes made from old OS to new in connectivity. When a print job is submitted, the printer often, but not always revs up the laser. Pop up on screen indicates print job submitted then print job completed. Nothing prints. Is there a source for Debian Linux drivers for the 2540? Has anyone come across this issue?

This is support for Ubuntu only and not for other operating systems (even if they might be "based on Ubuntu").

If you are running POP OS, then you are wrong here.

Please see https://system76.com/pop/community for support.

Can you help with this problem?
