Ubuntu 17.10 stalls on boot, logo blinks

Asked by Pablo

When booting Ubuntu 17.10, Ubuntu logo blinks on and off and booting stalls. If I poweroff and reboot, it will boot normally. If I use recovery mode, it will boot ok. I dual boot with Windows and no trouble booting Windows. (I use aa Thinkpad Core I5.) How to solve this? Thank you for your help.

Have you tested your RAM using Memtest86 from GRUB?

Thank you for this recommendation. I am now running Memtest86. It has done one complete pass reporting no errors. It has begun a second pass. I will report any further results
