Surface book 2 on Ubuntu

Would kindly like to know, before buying.
I would like to know if I can install Ubuntu 18.04 on surface book 2, without any issues. I know Microsoft doesn't make life easy. Please kindly advise me before buying

Seems weird to buy and pay for a licence for Windows which will be heavily optimised for the device to then put something else on it....

Looking at the battery life its around 9 hrs which is great for me. plus i want to buy a Galaxy Tab. so am looking at buying one device. killing 2 birds with one stone.

If battery life is important then an ARM based tablet will last longer than an i7
