Are there mirrors for http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/18.04/release/ ?

Asked by Tom Reynolds

I was looking for mirror servers hosting the classic server installer and other alternative downloads. The only location I could spot is
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/18.04/release/

Are these downloads not propagated on the 'CD' ('release') mirror servers? Are they propagated by other means, or only available from Canonicals' CDN (which has (rarely) shown to be a single point of failure in the past)?

Thanks.

In general cdimage.ubuntu.com is not mirrored; there might be a few ad-hoc mirrors, but we don't track them. It's mostly too big and (relatively) too low-traffic per file to be a good target for mirrors.

I would expect the server images to get higher traffic since the new 'live' server installer is not really usable for many if not most server installation scenarios (handling existing partitions / block device layers, SW RAID, LVM2, dmcrypt-LUKS, ...) at this time.

Can you help with this problem?
