Are there mirrors for ?

Asked by Tom Reynolds on 2018-04-30

I was looking for mirror servers hosting the classic server installer and other alternative downloads. The only location I could spot is

Are these downloads not propagated on the 'CD' ('release') mirror servers? Are they propagated by other means, or only available from Canonicals' CDN (which has (rarely) shown to be a single point of failure in the past)?

This question was expired because it remained in the 'Open' state without activity for the last 15 days.

In general is not mirrored; there might be a few ad-hoc mirrors, but we don't track them. It's mostly too big and (relatively) too low-traffic per file to be a good target for mirrors.

I would expect the server images to get higher traffic since the new 'live' server installer is not really usable for many if not most server installation scenarios (handling existing partitions / block device layers, SW RAID, LVM2, dmcrypt-LUKS, ...) at this time.
