Ubuntu v.8.10 full screen not showing up. *Making it almost impossible for me to set or change settings* <--Noob

Asked by Keith M.

Okay, Well I just installed Ubuntu v.8.10 using Wubi so I can dual boot Windows And Linux.
and Ubuntu will not boot using my full monitor. it appears on my secondary monitor, regardless if I have it unplugged.
and its only showing the top left half of the desktop on the entire monitor. So I cant see things when i open them. such as FireFox and the Terminal.
Is there anyway for me to fix this?
And remember, I JUST installed this about an hour ago. And am brand new to Linux so Lamens terms please.
Thank you very much for your help.

take a look at your windows display drivers and try to turn of multi screen support
then maybe reinstall ubuntu if it not helps
and in my experience ATI is not doing well on dual screen set up

Can you help with this problem?
