How do i save ubuntu while formating windows operating system

I have installed Ubuntu in windows now i want to format windows to install fresh copy . Could this remove Ubuntu.

First make sure to take a backup of your files, just do not touch the ubuntu partitions , just format and install windows into the same partition, try to set a label for it to identify it through your windows installation, also after the windows installation the Ubuntu Grub loader will disappear so you need to recover it check this document for more information https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows
